Brent Westwick – A Contrarian Approach to Golf Coaching

At Westwick Golf Coaching, Brent Westwick doesn’t just challenge the status quo—he flips it on its head. As a proud contrarian, Brent believes the game of golf has been taught incorrectly for decades. While traditional instruction has often focused on swing mechanics in sterile, one-on-one driving range settings, Brent is driven by a simple, bold truth: real improvement happens on the course, under real conditions, with a results-focused mindset.

A Results-Based, On-Course Coaching Model

Brent’s coaching philosophy is grounded in results-based group coaching, not outdated private lessons that offer little to no measurable progress. His programs are designed to improve scoring, decision-making, and overall enjoyment of the game—not just how a swing looks on video. This is achieved by coaching golfers where it matters most: on the golf course, not stuck on a mat under a shelter.

Brent’s group sessions are deliberately small, typically 4 players per group, ensuring personalised feedback while fostering camaraderie, competition, and accountability. Every drill, every session, and every moment is structured around helping players shoot lower scores, not just “hit it better.”

Skills That Transfer from Range to Reality

Rather than getting bogged down in technical jargon, Brent helps players develop skills that translate directly to better scores. Whether it’s strategy, shot selection, managing pressure, or understanding the scoring method, Brent’s coaching builds golfing IQ as much as it builds technique. His sessions are rich with foresight, course management insights, and real-time decision training.

The Power of the RGX Model

Brent’s transformation as a coach was supercharged when he discovered the RGX (Revolutionising Golf Instruction) coaching framework created by Will Robins. This model aligns perfectly with Brent’s contrarian philosophy, offering a scalable, effective, and data-driven approach to coaching. Since adopting RGX, Brent has shifted from the limitations of one-on-one coaching to a more impactful, scalable group model—allowing him to coach up to 28 players per day while delivering greater results, satisfaction, and engagement.

Through RGX, Brent has replaced the tired “tip and fix” style with a comprehensive system that focuses on goals, accountability, and performance tracking. The results speak for themselves: happier clients, lower handicaps, and a thriving community of players who genuinely improve.
